We all know how much I love supporting local businesses in the Carson Valley, so I wanted to showcase some local shopping in Gardnerville, NV that you can check out. I’ve expanded the list below to include some spots in Minden that are a very short drive away.

Whether you’re headed for an adventure out on the town, these spots are great for window shopping, grabbing a pick me up or a bite to eat, and even indulging a bit by purchasing a gift for yourself or a friend.

If you’re making the move to Northern Nevada and trying to figure out what area you want to live in, you might stop to consider the small, thriving town of Gardnerville.

Bently Heritage Estate Distillery

Abby Jo’s Cafe Girasole

Location: 1483 U.S. 395, Gardnerville, NV 89410

Hours: Monday – Friday from 11am – 3pm

Enjoy a savory sandwich, hand-crafted soup and luscious salad at Abby Jo’s Café Girasole. Graze on delectable wraps, grilled paninis and sandwiches that include locally grown, organic produce, when available, sumptuous vegetarian options and tasty gluten-free bread, soups and desserts. Yummy cookies, cakes, specialty cheesecakes and pastries come fresh from the oven.

COOK’D

Location: 1644 Hwy 395, Minden, NV 89423

Hours: Tuesday – Sunday from 11am – 9pm/close

COOK’D offers a variety of food, good vibes, and a family fun atmosphere. If you are looking for a place to watch the game, have a drink and/or appetizer or looking to have a nice sit-down dinner, check them out.

They have a full-service bar with TV’s and a projector so no matter where you are sitting in the bar area you will have a view.

Chocolate Shoppe by Sweet Images

Location: 1363 US Highway 395 N Ste 7 Gardnerville, NV 89410

Hours: Monday – Friday from 9am-5:30pm, Saturday from 9am-5pm, Closed Sundays

If you love chocolate, you have to stop by Chocolate Shoppe by Sweet Images! All of their chocolate is made on site in small batches.

Plus, they also offer many custom and Nevada products!

DST Coffee

Location: 1411 HWY 395, Gardnerville, Nevada 89410

Hours: Monday – Saturday from 7am – 6pm, Sunday from 8am-4pm

DST Coffee is a family owned coffee shop serving third wave coffee and sourcing as many of their products locally as they can. They provide the Carson Valley area with premium, high quality coffee, ice cream, and fresh made in-house pastries.

This coffee shop is the perfect choice to host a meeting, have a date, study, or hang out with family and friends. Did we mention they are kid-friendly? You can also rent out the space for private events!

DST Pizza

DST Pizza is a mobile wood fired pizza oven that will be featured on select weekends at DST Coffee. Enjoy pizza, coffee, and ice cream in one place!

They also offer private events and catering options. If you can spot their pop-up when they’re open, highly suggest stopping by here for a fresh pizza that is delicious!

J.T. Basque Restaurant

Location: 1426 U.S. Highway 395 N, Gardnerville, NV 89410

Hours: Monday – Friday from 11:30am-2pm & 5-9pm, Saturday from 11:30am-2pm & 4:30-9pm

Your hosts, The Lekumberry Family invite you to be a part of a Gardnerville tradition for over 60 years at J.T. Basque Restaurant – a local favorite.

With roots stretching back well over a half-century, the J.T. is a Nevada icon. Bring your appetite! The multi-course family-style meals are plentiful and palate pleasing. Voted Best Basque Restaurant in the Carson Valley for more than a decade running.

Minden Meat & Deli

Minden Meat & Deli is a family owned and operated business that started in 2012. They specialize in craft beers (31 on tap) plus hundreds of bottles/cans, tri-tip sandwiches, burgers and other made to order sandwiches.

Their burgers are made from their in house ground beef made several times each day, made with Creekstone Farms Choice Black Angus Beef, fresh produce, and brioche buns delivered daily from Truckee Sourdough.

Overland Restaurant

Location: 1451 U.S. Highway 395 N, Gardnerville, NV, 89410

Hours: Monday – Friday from 11:30am-8:30pm, Saturday & Sunday from 10am-8:30pm

Located in Downtown Gardnerville, NV in a historic building that was initially built in 1902 as a meat market and then operated as a hotel, restaurant, and pub that served the local basque sheep herding community in the Carson Valley.

In 2015 the building was remodeled and expanded into the old firehouse building that is now the the “Pub”. They serve locally sourced meats, pastas, breads and other produce to create a unique menu that has a distinct smokehouse vibe and deep roots in basque cuisine.

Carson Valley Kids

Eddy Street Vintage Market started on a whim! Meant to be open for one weekend.. ever…one and done. What happened was nothing short of miraculous. A snowball in the middle of summer.
